How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide the exact dose and injection sites. For wrinkles between the eyebrows, it's typically 50 units (10 units in 5 spots). For crow's feet, it's typically 60 units (10 units in 6 spots per eye).

Method

This medicine is given by a doctor as injections into the muscles.

Important

Do not receive injections more often than every 12 weeks.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, irritation, rash, itching, tingling, pain, discomfort, stinging, or bruising)
  • Headache
  • Eye strain or blurred vision
  • Drooping upper eyelid
  • Swollen eyelids
  • Watery eyes
  • Dry eyes
  • Twitching of muscles around the eye
  • Temporary facial paralysis
RARE
  • Vision problems or double vision
  • Dizziness
  • Itching or rash
  • Allergic reactions
  • Eye movement disorders
  • Numbness
  • Muscle wasting
  • General weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Flu-like symptoms

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Azzalure if you are allergic to botulinum toxin type A or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take Azzalure if you have an infection where the injection will be given.
  • Tell your doctor if you have certain muscle or nerve diseases like myasthenia gravis, LEMS, or ALS.
  • Tell your doctor if you often have trouble swallowing or if food or drink often goes down the wrong way.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a bleeding disorder, such as hemophilia, that makes you bleed longer than normal.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had or plan to have facial surgery soon.
  • Tell your doctor if you have received other botulinum toxin injections before.
  • Tell your doctor if previous botulinum toxin treatments did not improve your wrinkles much.
  • Do not use Azzalure if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Azzalure may cause blurred vision, muscle weakness, or tiredness. Do not drive or operate machines if you experience these effects.
  • In rare cases, the medicine can cause muscle weakness in areas other than where it was injected.
