Azithromycin ratiopharm is an antibiotic used to treat infections caused by bacteria and other microorganisms, such as respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and Chlamydia infections.
The usual dose for adults and children over 45 kg is 1500 mg, taken over 3 or 5 days. For Chlamydia infections, the dose is 1000 mg as a single dose.
Swallow the tablets whole with water, with or without food. The 500 mg tablets can be divided into two equal doses.
The maximum daily dose depends on the treatment duration. It's typically 500mg once daily for 3 days, or 500mg on the first day then 250mg for the next 4 days.
