How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one spray in each nostril, twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

Method

This medicine is for use in your nose. Follow the instructions carefully for how to use the spray.

Important

Do not use more than one spray in each nostril in the morning and one spray in each nostril in the evening. This means a maximum of four sprays per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nosebleed

  • Bitter taste in your mouth, especially if you tilt your head back. This usually goes away if you drink something.
  • Unpleasant smell

  • Mild irritation inside the nose, which can include stinging, itching, and sneezing.
  • Dry nose, cough, dry or irritated throat.

  • Dry mouth

  • Dizziness or drowsiness
  • Eye problems like cataracts (clouding of the eye lens), glaucoma (high pressure in the eye), or increased eye pressure, which can cause blurred vision, red eyes, or eye pain. These are usually seen with long-term use.
  • Damage to the skin and lining inside your nose.
  • Feeling sick (nausea), tired, or weak.
  • Skin rash, itchy skin, redness, or itchy bumps (hives).
  • Bronchospasm (tightening of the airways, making it hard to breathe).
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, which can cause trouble swallowing or breathing, and a sudden rash. Seek medical help right away.
  • Blurred vision
  • Sores inside the nose (nasal ulcers)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to azelastine, fluticasone, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had a recent nose injury or surgery.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a nose infection. It should be treated first.
  • Tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis or any other infection that is not being treated.
  • Tell your doctor if you have eye problems like blurred vision, high eye pressure, glaucoma (green star), or cataracts (grey star). You might need eye check-ups.

  • Tell your doctor if your adrenal glands are not working well.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a severe liver disease.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor before using this medicine.
  • This medicine can make you feel tired, weak, or dizzy. Do not drive or use machines if you feel this way. Alcohol can make these effects worse.
  • This medicine contains benzalkonium chloride, which may cause irritation or stuffiness in the nose, especially with long-term use.
  • Do not use this medicine for more than 3 months unless your doctor tells you to.
  • If your symptoms do not get better after 14 days of using this medicine regularly, contact your doctor.
