Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to aztreonam or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you are allergic to other antibiotics, like penicillin or cephalosporins.
  • Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems; these functions need to be monitored.
  • This medicine can cause brain problems (like confusion, seizures, or movement issues), especially with kidney problems or overdose.
  • Tell your doctor if you experience serious changes in blood counts or skin.

  • Inform your doctor if you have seizures.
  • Tell your doctor if you get diarrhea, especially severe or long-lasting diarrhea, as it could be a serious infection.
  • Inform your doctor if you have temporary or long-term kidney failure.
  • Using antibiotics can lead to the growth of resistant germs, including bacteria and fungi.
  • If you are taking other antibiotics called aminoglycosides, your kidney function must be checked regularly because these can harm kidneys and ears.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you take, especially those for uric acid, diuretics, blood thinners, and other antibiotics, as the dose of Azactam might need to be adjusted.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy, as there is limited experience with Azactam during pregnancy and it passes into breast milk.
  • This medicine may affect your ability to drive or use machines, especially if you experience brain problems (encephalopathy).
