How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 5 mg twice a day. Your doctor might change your dose based on how well you tolerate the medicine.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with water, with or without food. Take your doses about 12 hours apart.

Important

Your doctor will decide your maximum daily dose based on how you respond to the medicine.

  • Protein in urine (shown in urine tests)
  • Weight loss
  • Headache
  • Changes in taste or loss of taste
  • Dehydration
  • Kidney problems
  • Gas, hemorrhoids
  • Bleeding gums
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Burning or stinging feeling in the mouth
  • Overactive thyroid gland (shown in blood tests)
  • Sore throat or nose, irritated throat
  • Muscle pain
  • Nosebleed
  • Itchy skin, red skin, hair loss
  • Ringing or buzzing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Low red blood cell count (anemia)
  • Low platelet count (platelets help blood clot)
  • Red blood cells in urine (shown in urine tests)
  • Changes in certain blood chemical levels or enzymes
  • High red blood cell count
  • Swelling in the belly, legs or ankles, bulging neck veins, extreme tiredness, shortness of breath (signs of heart failure)
  • Fistulas (abnormal passages in the body or to the skin)
  • Dizziness
  • Gallbladder inflammation
RARE
  • Low white blood cell count (shown in blood tests)

Important Warnings

  • Axitinib Stada can raise your blood pressure. Your doctor will check it regularly.
  • This medicine can affect your thyroid gland. Tell your doctor if you feel very tired or cold, or if your voice changes.
  • If you have a history of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack, seek immediate medical help if you get chest pain, arm pain, shortness of breath, numbness, or dizziness.
  • Axitinib Stada can increase your risk of bleeding. Tell your doctor if you cough up blood or have bloody stools.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had an aneurysm (a bulge in a blood vessel) or a torn blood vessel.

  • If you get severe or ongoing stomach pain while taking this medicine, tell your doctor right away. This could be a sign of a hole in your stomach or intestines.
  • This medicine can affect wound healing. If you are having surgery or have an unhealed wound, your doctor may stop your treatment at least 24 hours before surgery.
  • If you get headache, confusion, seizures, or vision changes, with or without high blood pressure, seek immediate medical help. These could be signs of a rare brain condition.
  • Your doctor will check your liver function with blood tests before and during treatment.
  • Tell your doctor if you feel very tired, have swelling in your belly, legs, or ankles, are short of breath, or have bulging neck veins. These could be signs of heart failure.
