Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Blurred vision, wide pupils, sensitivity to light, or trouble focusing.
  • Dry mouth, which can cause difficulty swallowing or speaking, and thirst.
  • Less sweating or dry skin.
  • Constipation or heartburn.
  • Feeling sick (nausea) or throwing up (vomiting).
  • Feeling bloated or having swelling in the belly.
  • Hives (itchy red bumps) or a skin rash.
  • Less mucus in the airways.
  • Less stomach acid.
  • Loss of taste.
  • Feeling agitated, confused, seeing or hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations), or having trouble with coordination (especially with higher doses).
  • Feeling too hot (overheating).
  • Changes in heart rate, such as a fast, irregular, or temporarily slow heartbeat.
  • Hot flashes.
  • Trouble passing urine.
RARE
  • Severe mental reactions (psychotic reactions).
  • Allergic reactions like skin irritation or swelling.
  • Seizures.
  • Feeling very sleepy (drowsiness).
  • A very severe allergic reaction that can be life-threatening.
  • Very irregular heart rhythm, including a very fast and uncontrolled heartbeat (ventricular fibrillation).
  • Chest pain.
  • A sudden, very high increase in blood pressure.
  • Headache.
  • Feeling restless.
  • Unsteady walking or balance problems.
  • Trouble sleeping (insomnia).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to atropine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have trouble urinating, especially if you are a man with an enlarged prostate.
  • Do not use if you have a paralyzed bowel, severe bowel inflammation, or a blocked bowel.
  • Do not use if you have high pressure in your eyes (glaucoma).
  • Do not use if you have active bleeding and an unstable heart condition.

  • This medicine can reduce sweating and might cause your body temperature to rise.
  • Always tell your doctor if you have heart problems, an overactive thyroid, liver or kidney issues, high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, severe muscle weakness, or certain stomach/bowel problems.
