Your doctor will determine your dose based on your weight. For children and teenagers under 70 kg, you will start with 0.5 mg for each kg of your weight daily for at least 7 days. After that, your doctor may increase it to about 1.2 mg for each kg daily. If you are over 70 kg or an adult, you will start with 40 mg daily for at least 7 days, then your doctor may increase it to 80-100 mg daily.
Take the capsules 1 to 2 times daily, usually in the morning and late afternoon or early evening. Swallow the capsules whole with water, with or without food. Do not open the capsules or empty their contents. Take your medicine at the same time each day to help you remember.
The maximum daily dose prescribed by your doctor is 100 mg.
