How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your dose based on your weight. Usually, treatment starts with a low dose, which is then gradually increased.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water, with or without food. Do not open the capsules. Take the medicine 1-2 times a day, at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 100 mg.

  • Fainting
  • Migraine headache
  • Blurred vision
  • Strange skin feelings like burning, tingling, or itching

  • Abnormal heart rhythm (prolonged QT interval)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Symptoms of liver damage, like dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, upper right stomach pain, unexplained nausea, tiredness, itching, or flu-like feelings
  • Poor circulation causing cold, numb, and pale fingers and toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)
  • Long-lasting, painful erection

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to atomoxetine or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have taken certain antidepressants called MAOIs in the last 14 days, as it can cause very serious side effects.
  • Tell your doctor if you have serious heart problems, high or low blood pressure, or a history of stroke, as this medicine can affect your heart.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have thoughts of harming yourself, severe mood swings, aggression, or other mental health issues like psychosis (seeing/hearing things that aren't real) or mania (feeling overly excited).
  • Inform your doctor if you have liver problems, as your dose may need to be lowered.

  • Do not use this medicine if you have a certain eye condition called narrow-angle glaucoma (high pressure in the eye).
  • Do not use this medicine if you have a tumor on your adrenal gland called pheochromocytoma.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had seizures or epilepsy, as this medicine might increase the risk.
  • Get help right away if you have confusion, fast heartbeat, sweating, muscle stiffness, or fever, especially if you take other medicines. This could be a serious condition called serotonin syndrome.
