How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose based on your weight, usually starting with a low dose and increasing it as needed; the maximum daily dose is 100 mg.

Method

Take the medicine 1-2 times daily (in the morning and late afternoon/early evening) by swallowing the whole capsule with water, with or without food; do not open the capsules.

  • Cold fingers and toes
  • Muscle spasms
  • Urinary retention
  • Abnormal or absent orgasm (men/women)
  • Irregular periods (women)
  • Failed ejaculation
  • Poor circulation causing numbness and paleness in fingers and toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)
  • Prolonged, painful erection
  • Liver damage

  • Yellow skin or eyes
  • Tenderness or pain in the abdomen below the right rib cage

Important Warnings

  • If you are allergic to atomoxetine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • If you have taken certain antidepressant medicines (MAOIs) in the last two weeks; taking them together can be dangerous.
  • If you have narrow-angle glaucoma (an eye disease with high pressure in the eye).
  • If you have a severe heart problem that could get worse if your heart rate or blood pressure increases.
  • If you have severe blood vessel problems in your brain, such as a stroke or a bulge in a blood vessel.

  • If you have a tumor on your adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma).
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or have attempted suicide.
  • If you have heart problems (including heart defects) or extra heartbeats; this medicine can make your heart beat faster.
  • If you have high blood pressure; this medicine can raise it even more.
  • If you have low blood pressure; this medicine can cause dizziness or fainting.
  • If you have liver problems; a lower dose might be needed.
  • If you have psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations (hearing or seeing things that aren't there) or delusions.
  • If you have mania (feeling extremely joyful or overexcited) or are agitated.
  • If you have aggressive feelings, unfriendliness, or anger.
  • If you have epilepsy or have had seizures before; this medicine can increase the risk of them.
  • If you have strong mood swings or uncontrolled twitches or sounds (tics).
  • A rare, serious condition called serotonin syndrome can happen, especially if you take this medicine with other drugs. Symptoms can include confusion, restlessness, fast heartbeat, sweating, muscle stiffness, or vomiting. Seek immediate medical help if you suspect this.
  • Do not open the capsule, as its contents can irritate your eyes. If contents get into your eyes, rinse immediately with water and contact a doctor. Wash your hands right after touching the capsule's contents.
