How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose based on your weight. You usually start with a low dose, which is slowly increased.

Method

Take the capsules 1-2 times a day, whole with water, with or without food. Do not open the capsules. Take your medicine at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 100 mg.

  • Feeling aggressive, hostile, or angry
  • Mood swings or changes
  • Severe allergic reaction (e.g., swelling of face/throat, difficulty breathing, hives)
  • Seizures
  • Psychotic symptoms (e.g., hearing or seeing things that aren't real, false beliefs)
  • Liver damage symptoms (e.g., dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, tenderness/pain on right side of abdomen, unexplained nausea, tiredness, itching, flu-like feeling)
  • Thoughts of harming yourself or suicide
  • Fainting
  • Migraine
  • Blurred vision
  • Abnormal skin sensations (e.g., burning, tingling, itching)
  • Cold fingers and toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)
  • Difficulty holding or passing urine, frequent urge to urinate, or painful urination
  • Prolonged, painful erection
  • Involuntary teeth grinding (bruxism)
  • Restlessness
  • Abnormal heart rhythm (prolonged QT interval)
  • Muscle cramps
  • Difficulty holding urine
  • Abnormal or absent orgasm
  • Irregular periods
  • Ejaculation failure

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to atomoxetine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have used MAO inhibitors (a type of antidepressant) in the last two weeks.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have narrow-angle glaucoma (high pressure in your eye).
  • Do not take this medicine if you have a serious heart problem that could get worse with an increased heart rate or blood pressure.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe brain blood vessel problems, like a stroke or a bulge in a blood vessel (aneurysm).

  • Do not take this medicine if you have a tumor on your adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma).
  • Tell your doctor if you have had thoughts of harming yourself or trying to take your own life.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems (including heart defects) or a fast heartbeat, as this medicine can speed up your heart rate.
  • Tell your doctor if you have high or low blood pressure, or problems with sudden changes in your blood pressure or heart rate.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, as your dose might need to be lowered.
  • Tell your doctor if you have psychotic symptoms, like hearing or seeing things that aren't real, or unusual beliefs.
  • Tell your doctor if you have mania (feeling unusually happy or over-excited) or feel agitated.
  • Tell your doctor if you feel aggressive, hostile, or angry.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had epilepsy or seizures, as this medicine can increase your risk.
  • Tell your doctor if you have mood swings or feel very sad.
  • Tell your doctor if you have hard-to-control, repeated twitches or sounds (tics).
  • Serotonin syndrome can be a life-threatening condition if taken with other medicines. Get immediate medical help if you experience confusion, restlessness, fast heartbeat, fever, sweating, or diarrhea.
  • Do not open the capsules, as the contents can irritate your eyes. If the contents get into your eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and contact a doctor. Wash your hands after touching the capsule contents.
