How to Use

Dosage

For preventing blood clots, the usual dose is 100-300 mg per day (1-3 Aspirin Cardio 100 mg tablets).

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with plenty of water at least 30 minutes before a meal. For first aid during a heart attack, chew or crush 2-3 tablets (200-300 mg) and swallow them quickly.

Important

Do not exceed 300 mg (3 tablets) in a single day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Nosebleeds
  • Runny nose
  • Stomach and intestinal inflammation and pain, indigestion, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
  • Minor, unnoticed bleeding in the stomach or gut
  • Skin rash
  • Itching
  • Bleeding in the urinary or genital areas (including blood in urine and heavy periods)
RARE
  • Anemia due to bleeding (visible or not)
  • Drug allergy
  • Bruises or local bleeding under the skin
  • Stuffy nose
  • Gum bleeding
  • Stomach or intestinal ulcers
  • Liver problems (seen in blood tests)
  • Hives (itchy rash)
  • Long-lasting or severe bleeding
  • Vomit that looks like coffee grounds or contains blood
  • Blood in stool or black, tar-like stool
  • Signs of bleeding in the brain, such as very bad headache with vomiting, weakness on one side, seizures, or loss of consciousness
  • Unusual weakness, tiredness, paleness, or shortness of breath (can be signs of internal bleeding)
  • Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, trouble breathing or wheezing, sudden drop in blood pressure
  • Bleeding in muscles
  • A hole in the lining of the stomach or gut
  • Increased liver enzyme levels (seen in blood tests)
  • Kidney problems or kidney failure (seen in blood tests)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or similar pain/anti-inflammatory medicines (salicylates).
  • Do not use during the last three months of pregnancy, especially doses over 100 mg per day, as it may harm the baby.
  • Do not take if you have a tendency to bleed (e.g., hemophilia).
  • Do not take if you have or have had a stomach or duodenal ulcer.
  • Do not take if you have severe heart, kidney, or liver failure.

  • Do not take if you have had asthma attacks caused by salicylates or other anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • Do not take if you are using methotrexate at a dose of 15 mg or more per week.
  • Not recommended for children and adolescents with fever, especially during viral infections like flu or chickenpox, due to the risk of Reye's syndrome.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Initiation of treatment under supervision of a physician. Do not use in severe renal impairment. Consider potential interactions especially with other drugs that increase the risk of bleeding. (updated 19.9.2025)
