How to Use
Dosage
For mild to moderate asthma, usually 400 micrograms once a day in the evening, or 200 micrograms twice a day. For severe asthma, usually 400 micrograms twice a day.
Method
Breathe the fine powder into your lungs using the inhaler while standing upright. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth, seal your lips around it, and inhale quickly and deeply. Hold your breath for about 10 seconds. Rinse your mouth with water afterwards and spit it out to prevent oral thrush.
Important
The highest recommended daily dose is 800 micrograms.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Oral thrush (white patches in your mouth or throat)

RARE
- •Dry mouth and throat
- •Digestive problems
- •Weight gain
- •Fast or strong heartbeat (palpitations)
- •Increased eye pressure (including glaucoma)
- •Cataracts
- •Blurred vision
Important Warnings
- Seek medical help immediately if you have wheezing or difficulty breathing right after using the medicine. This might be an allergic reaction.
- Always carry your fast-acting reliever inhaler for sudden asthma attacks (e.g., cough, wheezing, chest tightness). This medicine is not for sudden attacks.
- Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems.
- Do not stop using this medicine suddenly, even if your asthma feels better. Talk to your doctor first, as your symptoms may return.
- Tell your doctor if you have or have had tuberculosis, herpes simplex virus infection in your eye, or other infections, or if you get oral thrush (white patches) in your mouth or throat.
