This medicine helps prevent blood clots in the heart and brain blood vessels at low doses.
Typically 50-250 mg once a day.
Take the tablet with plenty of fluid. For a heart attack emergency, chew 150-500 mg as soon as possible. These tablets have a special coating so they dissolve in your small intestine, not your stomach, which helps reduce stomach irritation.
Do not exceed 250 mg for regular daily use, unless otherwise instructed by a doctor for emergency situations.
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Initiation of treatment under supervision of a physician. Do not use in severe renal impairment. Consider potential interactions especially with other drugs that increase the risk of bleeding. (updated 19.9.2025)
