Aripiprazole Avansor is an antipsychotic medicine used to treat mental health conditions like psychosis (seeing or hearing things that aren't real, suspicious thoughts, confused speech), mania (feeling unusually excited, energetic, or irritable), and to prevent these conditions from returning.

How to Use

Dosage

For adults, the usual dose is 15 mg once a day. For teenagers (13+), the recommended dose is 10 mg once a day, which can be adjusted by a doctor.

Method

Take Aripiprazole Avansor at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 30 mg once a day, as prescribed by your doctor.

  • Blood clots in veins, especially in the legs (symptoms include swelling, pain, redness in leg), which can travel to the lungs causing chest pain and breathing difficulties

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to aripiprazole or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have thoughts of harming yourself, as suicidal thoughts and behaviors have been reported with this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have high blood sugar, a family history of diabetes, seizures, unusual muscle movements, heart problems, abnormal blood pressure, blood clots, or a history of excessive gambling.
  • Inform your doctor if you notice weight gain, unusual movements, excessive sleepiness, difficulty swallowing, or allergic reactions.
  • If you are an elderly patient with dementia, tell your doctor if you have had a stroke or mini-stroke.

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience muscle stiffness or cramps with high fever, sweating, changes in consciousness, or very fast/irregular heartbeat, as these could be signs of a serious condition.
  • This medicine can cause drowsiness, low blood pressure when standing up, dizziness, and problems with movement or balance, which can lead to falls. Be careful, especially if you are elderly or frail.
  • Do not give this medicine to children under 13 years of age, as its safety and effectiveness in this age group are not known.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning to become pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness and vision problems, so be careful when driving or operating machinery.
