How to Use

Dosage

1 mg in 0.1 ml of solution.

Method

An eye surgeon will inject this medicine into your eye at the end of cataract surgery. It is a sterile powder that is mixed with saline before injection.

Important

Do not inject more than the recommended dose (1 mg in 0.1 ml). The vial is for single use only.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction (e.g., trouble breathing or dizziness).
  • Macular edema (blurry or wavy vision near or in the center of your eyesight).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Aprokam if you are allergic to cefuroxime or any other antibiotic in the cephalosporin group.
  • Tell your doctor if you are allergic to other antibiotics, like penicillin.
  • Tell your doctor if you are at risk of an infection caused by MRSA bacteria.
  • Tell your doctor if you are at risk of getting a serious infection.
  • Tell your doctor if you have been diagnosed with a complicated cataract.
