How to Use

Dosage

The dose varies depending on the condition and age; typically for adults, it's 20 mg once daily.

Method

Take this medicine by mouth on an empty stomach in the morning, at least 30 minutes before a meal.

Important

Your doctor will determine the maximum dose, which can be up to 40 mg daily depending on the condition.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to omeprazole, other proton pump inhibitors, or nelfinavir (an HIV medication).
  • Stop use and seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe skin reactions such as blistering, peeling, or widespread rash with fever.
  • Tell your doctor if you have unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, stomach pain, vomiting blood or food, or black stools.
  • Inform your doctor if you have severe or persistent diarrhea, as it may increase the risk of infection.
  • Long-term use (over one year) may increase the risk of hip, wrist, or spine fractures or cause vitamin B12 deficiency; discuss with your doctor.
