How to Use

Dosage

The recommended starting dose is 5 mg three times daily (total 15 mg buspirone hydrochloride per day); your doctor may gradually increase the dose to 20–30 mg per day, divided into several doses.

Method

Tablets can be divided into equal doses. Swallow them whole or halved with liquid; do not chew or crush. Always take the tablets at the same time of day, either on an empty stomach or with a meal.

Important

A single dose should not exceed 30 mg of buspirone hydrochloride, and the total daily dose should not exceed 60 mg of buspirone hydrochloride.

RARE
  • Serotonin syndrome (fever, confusion, agitation, sweating, tremors, chills, hallucinations, muscle jerks, or palpitations) – stop use and contact a doctor immediately.
  • Allergic reaction (itching, breathing difficulties, swelling of the face, lips, throat, tongue, or skin) – stop use and contact a doctor immediately.
  • Short fainting spells
  • Low or high blood pressure
  • Fast heart rate or arrhythmia
  • Feeling unreal or detached (depersonalization), unusual sensitivity to sounds
  • Euphoria (feeling very happy)
  • Unpleasant mood (sadness, irritability, restlessness)
  • Anxiety, lack of interest, association disorders
  • Hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, seizures
  • Numbness, tingling, coordination problems, tremors (involuntary movements)
  • Increased breathing rate, shortness of breath, chest pressure
  • Changes in sense of smell
  • Red and itchy eyes, conjunctivitis, eyelid inflammation
  • Increased or decreased appetite
  • Drooling, rectal bleeding, constipation, flatulence, irritable bowel syndrome, vomiting
  • Lower urinary tract symptoms (urination problems)
  • Swelling, hives, redness, bruising, hair loss, dry skin, rash, blisters, facial swelling
  • Muscle cramps, muscle pain, muscle stiffness, and joint pain
  • Weight gain or loss, fever, general malaise, fatigue, altered taste, sweating, cold sweaty hands
  • Elevated liver enzyme levels
  • Menstrual disorders, decreased or increased sexual desire
  • Cerebrovascular disorder, heart failure, heart attack, heart muscle disease, slow resting heart rate
  • Changes in blood counts (e.g., changes in white blood cells or platelets)
  • Mood swings, claustrophobia, poor cold tolerance
  • Sleepiness that may lead to impaired mobility or unconsciousness
  • Slurred speech, psychosis, temporary memory loss
  • Extrapyramidal symptoms (involuntary movements during or after treatment, stiffness, Parkinson-like symptoms, restlessness and inability to sit still, restless legs, slowed reaction time)
  • Nosebleed, urinary incontinence, need to urinate at night
  • Small skin hemorrhages, acne, thinning nails
  • Muscle weakness, breast milk secretion, breast enlargement in men, thyroid dysfunction
  • Alcohol abuse, bleeding disorders, hoarseness, hiccups, burning sensation in tongue
  • Missed periods, pelvic inflammatory disease, ejaculation disorder, impotence

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to buspirone hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Avoid if you have severe glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, severe liver or kidney disease, epilepsy, or acute poisoning from alcohol, sleeping pills, painkillers, or antipsychotics.
  • If you have used sedatives for a long time, these must be stopped gradually before starting Anksilon.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have had seizures or have been dependent on medicines or drugs.
  • Do not use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

  • Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking Anksilon.
  • Avoid driving and operating machinery until you know how the medicine affects you, especially at the start of treatment.
  • Not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • Do not use simultaneously with antidepressants called MAO inhibitors.
