How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food, and start a new pack the day after the current one finishes without a break.

Important

One tablet daily. Do not exceed this dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Unexpected period-like bleeding
  • Breast tenderness
  • Breast pain
  • Depression, mood swings, nervousness
  • Headache
  • Abdominal pain, nausea, abdominal bloating
  • Benign breast lump, swollen breasts
  • Enlargement of uterine fibroids
  • Benign growth of cervical cells
  • Irregular vaginal bleeding
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Lack of energy, local fluid retention
RARE
  • Weight gain or loss, decreased or increased appetite, increased blood fat levels
  • Sleep problems, anxiety, decreased sex drive
  • Burning or tingling sensation, reduced concentration, dizziness
  • Eye problems (e.g., red eyes), visual disturbances (e.g., blurry vision)
  • Heart palpitations
  • Blood clot in a vein (venous thrombosis), high blood pressure, migraine, vein inflammation, varicose veins
  • Shortness of breath
  • Stomach problems, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, dry mouth, flatulence, altered taste
  • Changes in liver enzymes (seen in blood tests)
  • Skin problems, acne, hair loss, itchy skin, increased body hair
  • Back pain, joint pain, limb pain, muscle cramps
  • Urinary tract problems and infections
  • Breast cancer, thickening of the uterine lining, benign growth in the uterus, yeast infection, vaginal dryness and itching
  • Fibrocystic breast lump, ovarian, cervical and uterine disorders, pelvic pain
  • Generalized fluid retention, breast pain, general malaise, increased sweating
  • Anemia
  • Dizziness
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Gallstones
  • Muscle pain
  • Fallopian tube inflammation
  • Milky discharge from breasts without breastfeeding
  • Chills

Important Warnings

  • If you have or have had breast cancer, or if it is suspected.
  • If you have or are suspected of having cancer that is sensitive to estrogen, like uterine cancer.
  • If you have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • If you have excessive thickening of the lining of your womb.
  • If you have or have had a blood clot in a vein (e.g., in your leg or lungs).

  • If you have a blood clotting disorder.
  • If you have recently had a heart attack, stroke, or angina.
  • If you have or have had a liver disease and your liver tests are not yet normal.
  • If you have porphyria, a rare inherited blood disorder.
  • If you have severe kidney disease or sudden kidney failure.
  • If you are allergic to estrogen, progestins, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Stop Angeliq immediately if you experience yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes (jaundice), which could be a sign of liver disease.
  • Stop Angeliq immediately if you experience swelling of the face, tongue, and/or throat, difficulty swallowing, or hives with breathing problems, as these could be signs of angioedema.
  • Stop Angeliq immediately if you experience a significant increase in blood pressure (symptoms may include headache, tiredness, dizziness).
  • Stop Angeliq immediately if you experience migraine-like headaches appearing for the first time.
  • Stop Angeliq immediately if you become pregnant.
  • Stop Angeliq immediately if you notice signs of a blood clot, such as painful swelling and redness in your legs, sudden chest pain, or difficulty breathing.
