How to Use

Dosage

One injection (300 micrograms/0.3 ml) is given per dose.

Method

Inject into the outer thigh muscle. Hold the auto-injector against the outer thigh for 10 seconds, then remove and gently massage the area. Can be administered through thin clothing.

Important

Your doctor will tell you if you need more than one dose. If symptoms don't improve or worsen after 5-15 minutes, a second injection may be given. Always carry more than one Anapen.

Important Warnings

  • This medicine is only for emergency use. Seek medical help immediately after using it, even if you feel better, as the reaction can come back.
  • Always carry two auto-injectors in case the first one fails or one dose is not enough.
  • Do not touch the exposed needle end of the auto-injector once the black needle cap is removed.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems, glaucoma, kidney or prostate disease, or asthma.
  • If you accidentally inject into a blood vessel, finger, or foot, or if a child accidentally takes the medicine, seek immediate medical help.

  • Do not drive or operate machines after using Anapen, as you may still have symptoms of a severe allergic reaction.
  • This medicine contains sodium metabisulfite (E 223), which can cause allergic reactions and breathing difficulties, especially in people with asthma. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to it.
