How to Use

Dosage

Take 1 tablet, usually two or three times a day, exactly as your doctor has told you.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water during a meal. Make sure to take your doses evenly, with at least 4 hours between them.

Important

Do not take more Amorion Comp than your doctor prescribes. Do not use for more than 2 weeks without talking to your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Diarrhea
RARE
  • Thrush (a yeast infection in the mouth, vagina, or skin folds)
  • Feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting)
  • Skin rash, itching, or raised, itchy rash (hives)
  • Indigestion, dizziness, or headache
  • Increased levels of liver enzymes (shown in blood tests)
  • Severe skin reactions, including widespread rash with blisters and peeling skin, flu-like symptoms, or rash with swollen glands (DRESS syndrome). Seek urgent medical help.
  • Inflammation of the colon, causing severe, watery diarrhea, stomach pain, and/or fever
  • Inflammation of the pancreas, causing severe and ongoing stomach pain
  • Crystals in urine, which can lead to kidney problems or inflammation of kidney tubules
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes), or liver inflammation (hepatitis)
  • Low numbers of blood cells (e.g., white blood cells, red blood cells, or platelets that help blood clot)
  • Feeling overly active or having seizures (fits)
  • Black hairy tongue or tooth discoloration (mainly in children, which usually goes away with brushing)
  • Meningitis (inflammation of the membranes around the brain and spinal cord)
  • Increase of bacteria that are resistant to the medicine

Important Warnings

  • You are allergic to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, penicillin, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • You have had a severe allergic reaction to another antibiotic before, such as a rash or swelling of your face or neck.
  • You have had liver problems or yellowing of the skin (jaundice) when taking an antibiotic before.
  • You have glandular fever.
  • You have liver or kidney problems.

  • You do not urinate regularly.
  • Watch out for serious side effects like severe allergic reactions, seizures, or severe diarrhea while taking this medicine. Contact a doctor immediately if you notice these.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Increase the dosing interval in severe renal impairment. May potentiate the effect of methotrexate. (updated 6.11.2023)
