Amorion is an antibiotic that contains amoxicillin and is used to treat various bacterial infections and stomach ulcers.

How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the right dose based on your weight and age; usually for children 40–90 mg per kg of body weight per day and for adults 250–500 mg three times a day or 750 mg – 1 g every 12 hours.

Method

Shake the bottle well before each use. Take doses about 4 hours apart, and you can take the medicine with or without food.

Important

The highest recommended daily dose for children is 100 mg per kg of body weight, and for adults it is 6 grams.

  • Mild itchy rash (e.g., round, pinkish spots, hive-like swelling)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Amorion if you are allergic to amoxicillin, penicillin, or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you have a severe allergic reaction, such as a rash, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing.
  • Contact your doctor if you have glandular fever or kidney problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness, seizures, or other symptoms that can affect your ability to drive; do not drive or operate machinery if you feel unwell.
  • Stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately if your skin or eyes turn yellow, your urine is dark, your stools are pale, or you develop blisters, peeling rash, or bleeding.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Increase the dosing interval in severe renal impairment. May potentiate the effect of methotrexate. (updated 6.11.2023)
