How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one tablet per day.

Method

Take the tablet at the same time each day, preferably in the morning, with a glass of water, with or without food. Do not take with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

Important

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.

  • Dizziness

  • Ankle swelling

  • Frequent urge to urinate
  • High blood uric acid levels
  • Low blood magnesium levels
  • Low blood sodium levels
  • Decreased appetite
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Itchy rash
  • Inability to get or keep an erection
RARE
  • Severely reduced urine output (kidney problems)
  • Spontaneous bleeding or easy bruising
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Liver problems (e.g., yellow skin or eyes)
  • Sudden severe breathing issues (wheezing, shortness of breath)
  • Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Severe skin reactions (blistering, peeling skin, widespread rash)
  • Heart attack
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (severe stomach and back pain)
  • Unexplained weakness, fever, or frequent infections
  • Muscle stiffness or difficulty moving
  • Sudden temporary loss of consciousness
  • Spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Vision problems or eye pain
  • Chest pain (non-cardiac)
  • Diarrhea or dry mouth
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Taste changes
  • Back pain or joint swelling
  • Muscle cramps or limb pain
  • Tingling or numbness
  • Cough or sore throat
  • Excessive sweating
  • Mood changes (anxiety, depression)
  • Hair loss
  • Skin discoloration
  • Blistering skin rash
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight
  • Skin or lip cancer (non-melanoma type)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are more than 3 months pregnant or trying to get pregnant, as it can harm your baby.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide medicines, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver problems or a condition where bile cannot flow from your liver.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney problems, are on dialysis, or if your body does not produce urine.
  • Do not take this medicine if your blood potassium or sodium levels are too low, even with treatment.

  • Do not take this medicine if you have very low blood pressure.
  • If you experience swelling of your face or throat, stop taking this medicine immediately and contact your doctor. Do not take this medicine again.
  • If you notice vision loss or eye pain, contact your doctor immediately, as these could be signs of a serious eye problem that can lead to permanent vision loss if untreated.
  • This medicine can increase your risk of skin or lip cancer, especially with long-term, high-dose use. Protect your skin from sun and UV light.
  • If you have previously had breathing problems after taking hydrochlorothiazide, or if you develop severe shortness of breath after taking this medicine, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, or headaches. If you experience these symptoms, do not drive or use machines.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
