How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take your tablet at the same time each day with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food. Do not take it with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

Important

Do not take more than the dose your doctor prescribed.

  • Skin rash; red skin
  • Joint swelling; back pain
  • Joint pain
  • Feeling restless
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Fainting
  • Increased urination or need to urinate often
  • Trouble getting or keeping an erection
  • Feeling of pressure
  • Low blood pressure, causing dizziness or confusion
  • Heavy sweating
  • Body rash; itching; muscle cramps
  • Confusion
  • Changes in mood, anxiety, depression, sleeplessness
  • Tremors, altered taste, loss of pain sensation
  • Eye problems, blurred vision
  • Runny nose from inflammation
  • Vomiting
  • Hair loss, increased sweating, skin discoloration
  • Breast pain or enlargement in men
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Swelling of intestines with stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Reduced white blood cells, fever, sore throat or mouth ulcers due to infections
  • Spontaneous bleeding or bruising
  • High potassium in blood
  • Abnormal liver test results
  • Worsened kidney function
  • Swelling, mainly of face and throat
  • Muscle pain
  • Skin rash, reddish-purple spots

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, or any other ingredients, or to similar blood pressure medicines (calcium channel blockers). Signs of an allergic reaction include itching, red skin, or trouble breathing.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver or gallbladder problems.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are more than 3 months pregnant. It is also not recommended during early pregnancy.
  • Do not use if you have very low blood pressure, a narrow heart valve (aortic stenosis), or if your heart cannot pump enough blood (cardiogenic shock or heart failure after a heart attack).
  • If you get severe swelling of your face or throat (angioedema), stop taking this medicine and contact a doctor right away. You must not take this medicine again.

  • Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
  • This medicine can make you dizzy, which may affect your ability to focus. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are not sure how this medicine affects you.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
