How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet daily.

Method

Take the tablet with a glass of water at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not take it with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

Important

Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Flu-like symptoms (e.g., flu, stuffy nose, sore throat, difficulty swallowing)
  • Headache
  • Swelling (e.g., in arms, hands, legs, ankles, feet)
  • Tiredness, weakness
  • Flushing (redness and warmth in face and/or neck)
RARE
  • Dizziness, lightheadedness (especially when standing up), confusion, fainting
  • Nausea, stomach pain, dry mouth, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, indigestion
  • Tingling or numbness in hands or feet, drowsiness, spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Fast heartbeat, palpitations, abnormal heart rhythm, heart attack
  • Cough
  • Skin issues: rash, red skin, itching, severe skin reactions (e.g., severe rash, hives, blisters, peeling skin, swelling of face/lips/tongue leading to breathing issues)
  • Joint pain, back pain, swollen joints, muscle pain, muscle cramps, increased muscle tension
  • Restlessness, anxiety, depression, insomnia, trembling, mood changes
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus), reduced vision
  • Urination problems: more frequent urination, increased urination at night, increased urge to urinate
  • Erection problems, breast discomfort or enlargement in men
  • Heavy sweating, hair loss, skin discoloration
  • Weight gain or loss, general malaise, feeling of pressure
  • Low blood pressure
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (causing severe stomach and back pain)
  • Liver problems (e.g., abnormal liver function, inflammation of the liver, yellow skin/jaundice, elevated liver enzymes)
  • Swollen gums, swollen abdomen (gastritis)
  • Blood problems (e.g., decreased white blood cells, decreased platelets leading to easy bruising or bleeding, decreased red blood cells)
  • High blood sugar, high potassium levels in blood
  • Worsened kidney function
  • Swelling in the intestines (intestinal angioedema with stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, or any other ingredients in the medicine; symptoms may include itching, skin redness, or trouble breathing.
  • If you have severe liver or gallbladder problems.
  • Do not use after the 3rd month of pregnancy.
  • If you have very low blood pressure.
  • If you have a narrowed aorta or cardiogenic shock (a condition where your heart can't pump enough blood).

  • If you have heart failure after a heart attack.
  • If you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure medicine that contains aliskiren.
  • If you experience swelling, especially in your face or throat; stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
