How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take your medicine at the same time each day with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food, but do not take it with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Flu-like symptoms, stuffy nose, sore throat, and trouble swallowing.
  • Headache.
  • Swelling in your arms, hands, legs, ankles, or feet.
  • Feeling tired or weak.
  • Redness and warmth in your face and/or neck (flushing).
  • Dizziness, drowsiness.
  • Heart palpitations (feeling your heart beat).
  • Stomach pain, feeling sick (nausea).
RARE
  • Numbness, tingling, or weakness in hands or feet.
  • Stomach or bowel problems: dry mouth, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, or inflammation.
  • Cough.
  • Skin changes: rash, redness, itching, hair loss, increased sweating, or blisters/peeling skin.
  • Joint or muscle pain, back pain, or muscle cramps.
  • Mood and sleep issues: feeling restless, anxious, depressed, or having trouble sleeping.
  • Ringing in your ears (tinnitus).
  • Changes in urination: increased need to urinate, especially at night.
  • Sexual problems: trouble getting or keeping an erection, or enlarged breasts in men.
  • Weight changes (gain or loss).
  • Shaking or tremors.
  • Changes in taste or vision (blurred or decreased).
  • Low blood pressure, causing dizziness or confusion.
  • Swollen gums.
  • Liver problems: inflammation, yellow skin/eyes (jaundice), or abnormal blood tests.
  • Inflammation of blood vessels, often with a rash.
  • Confusion.
  • Blood cell changes: low white blood cells or platelets, leading to easy bruising or bleeding.
  • High blood sugar.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or bile problems.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant; it is also best to avoid this medicine in early pregnancy.
  • Do not take if you have very low blood pressure.
  • Do not take if you have severe narrowing of the aorta or cardiogenic shock (when your heart cannot pump enough blood).

  • Do not take if you have heart failure after a heart attack.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking aliskiren (another blood pressure medicine).
  • If you get sudden swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately. Do not take it again.
  • Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness, affecting your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you are unsure how it affects you, do not drive or use machines.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
