Amlodipine/Valsartan/Hydrochlorothiazide Stada tablets contain three active substances (amlodipine, valsartan, and hydrochlorothiazide) that help lower high blood pressure.

How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take one tablet with a glass of water, preferably in the morning at the same time each day. You can take it with or without food, but do not take it with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

Important

Do not exceed the prescribed dose of one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

  • Dizziness

  • Palpitations (feeling your heartbeat)
  • Flushing
  • Swollen ankles (edema)
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea after meals
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Frequent urge to urinate
  • High uric acid in blood
  • Low magnesium in blood
  • Low sodium in blood
  • Dizziness or fainting when standing up
  • Decreased appetite
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Itchy rash or other skin rashes
  • Erectile dysfunction
RARE
  • Severely reduced urine output or signs of kidney problems in blood tests
  • Spontaneous bleeding, low red or white blood cells, or low platelets causing easy bruising or frequent infections
  • Irregular or fast heartbeat, chest pain, or heart attack
  • Liver problems such as yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, and abnormal liver test results. Swollen gums or abdominal swelling (gastritis)
  • Severe allergic reactions including sudden wheezing, severe skin reactions (rash, hives, redness, blisters, peeling skin), swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat making it hard to breathe. Also, increased skin sensitivity to sun, reddish-purple spots, and a higher risk of skin cancer
  • Pancreatitis, causing severe stomach and back pain and feeling very unwell
  • Severe breathing problems such as acute respiratory distress (with shortness of breath, fever, weakness, confusion) or breathing difficulties with cough and wheezing
  • Spinning sensation (vertigo), nerve damage, tremors, abnormal movement or coordination, stiffness, or temporary loss of consciousness, inability to feel pain
  • High blood sugar (or worsening diabetes), sugar in urine. Swelling in the intestines with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Mood changes, anxiety, depression, insomnia, taste disturbances, weight changes, runny nose, changes in bowel habits, indigestion, breast enlargement or discomfort in men, fever
  • Vision problems (e.g., temporary loss of vision, eye pain due to high pressure, ringing in ears, changes in color vision)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant, or if you plan to become pregnant.
  • Do not take if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamides, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease or bile duct problems (cholestasis).
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney problems, are on dialysis, or cannot produce urine.
  • Do not take if you have very low blood potassium or sodium, very high blood calcium, or gout.

  • Do not take if you have very low blood pressure.
  • Do not take if you have narrowing of the aorta (aortic stenosis), cardiogenic shock, or heart failure after a heart attack.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking aliskiren.
  • This medicine may increase your risk of skin cancer. Protect your skin from sun and UV light while taking it.
  • If you get severe shortness of breath or trouble breathing after taking this medicine, seek immediate medical help.
  • Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel this way.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
