How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet with a glass of water at the same time each day, preferably in the morning. You can take it with or without food, but do not take it with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness.
  • Feeling tired.
  • Swelling in your ankles or feet.
  • Headache.
  • Upset stomach or nausea.
  • Frequent urination.
  • Muscle cramps or weakness.
  • Palpitations (feeling your heart beat).
RARE
  • Severely reduced urine output, which can be a sign of kidney problems.
  • Easy bruising or bleeding due to a low number of blood cells that help your blood clot.
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, or other signs of liver problems.
  • Severe skin reactions like a widespread rash, blisters, skin peeling, or sores in your mouth or on your eyes.
  • Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, which can make it hard to breathe or swallow.
  • Sudden chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or wheezing (whistling sound when breathing).
  • Severe stomach pain, which might be a sign of pancreas inflammation.
  • Changes in vision, eye pain, or seeing flashes of light, indicating serious eye conditions.
  • Confusion, fever, weakness, or frequent infections.
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight or a risk of non-melanoma skin cancer.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are more than 3 months pregnant or if you are planning to become pregnant.
  • Do not take if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamides, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or kidney problems, or if your body does not produce urine.
  • Do not take if you have very low blood pressure or severe heart problems (like heart failure after an attack, aortic narrowing, or cardiogenic shock).
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience swelling of your face or throat, severe breathing problems, sudden eye pain or vision loss, or new skin changes like rashes, blisters, or skin cancer.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
