How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet whole with a glass of water, always at the same time each day, preferably in the morning. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.

  • Faster or irregular heartbeat
  • Spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Vision problems (e.g., blurred vision, eye pain), ringing in ears
  • Stomach problems (e.g., discomfort, severe pain, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, intestinal swelling)
  • Chest pain, heart attack
  • Changes in blood tests (e.g., kidney/liver function, blood salts, blood cell counts)
  • Severely reduced urine output, kidney problems
  • Blood vessel inflammation (with rash)
  • Weakness, easy bruising, fever, frequent infections
  • Swelling (e.g., gums, joints, face, throat)
  • Muscle problems (stiffness, cramps, weakness, pain)
  • Coordination problems
  • Lack of energy, sleep problems, numbness or tingling
  • Sudden temporary loss of consciousness, fainting
  • Low blood pressure when standing
  • Cough, shortness of breath, throat irritation, severe breathing difficulties
  • Heavy sweating, skin changes (redness, discoloration, hair loss, light sensitivity, blistering, severe rashes, skin cancer)
  • Mood changes (anxiety, depression), confusion
  • Taste disturbances, loss of appetite
  • Sneezing, runny nose
  • Breast discomfort or enlargement in men
  • General feeling unwell
  • Weight changes
  • Spontaneous bleeding
  • Sugar in urine, high blood sugar, worsening diabetes
  • Yellow skin/eyes (jaundice), liver inflammation
  • Red patches on skin

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant (it's also not recommended during early pregnancy).
  • Do not take if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or similar medicines.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease or blocked bile ducts.
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney problems, are on dialysis, or if your body does not produce urine.
  • Do not take if your blood potassium or sodium levels are too low, or calcium levels are too high, and treatment has not corrected them.

  • Do not take if you have gout.
  • Do not take if your blood pressure is very low.
  • Do not take if you have a narrowed heart valve, cardiogenic shock (heart cannot pump enough blood), or heart failure after a heart attack.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are treated with aliskiren for high blood pressure.
  • If you experience swelling in your face or throat, stop taking the medicine immediately and contact a doctor.
  • If you develop severe shortness of breath after taking this medicine, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Hydrochlorothiazide may increase the risk of certain types of skin and lip cancer; protect your skin from sunlight.
