This medicine contains three active substances (amlodipine, valsartan, and hydrochlorothiazide) that work together to lower and control high blood pressure.

How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once daily.

Method

Take the tablet whole with a glass of water at the same time each day, preferably in the morning, with or without food.

Important

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.

COMMON
  • Low blood potassium
  • Increased blood fats
  • Drowsiness
  • Palpitations (feeling your heartbeat)
  • Flushing (redness of face)
  • Ankle swelling (edema)
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea after eating
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Frequent urination
  • High uric acid in blood
  • Low blood magnesium
  • Low blood sodium
  • Dizziness, fainting upon standing up
  • Decreased appetite
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Itchy rash and other types of rashes
  • Inability to get or keep an erection
RARE
  • Fast heart rate
  • Vertigo (spinning sensation)
  • Vision disturbances, impaired vision, eye pain or ringing in ears (tinnitus)
  • Stomach discomfort or chest pain
  • Changes in blood test results (e.g., increased urea, creatinine, uric acid, high calcium, fat, or sodium; low potassium; changes in white or red blood cells, platelets)
  • Bad breath, diarrhea, dry mouth, or constipation
  • Weight gain or loss, taste changes, or loss of appetite
  • Back, joint, limb, or muscle pain/cramps/weakness
  • General weakness, lack of energy, difficulty moving normally or abnormal coordination
  • Sleep disorders, tingling or numbness, sudden temporary loss of consciousness, or neuropathy
  • Low blood pressure upon standing or after exertion
  • Cough, shortness of breath, or throat irritation
  • Heavy sweating, itching, skin redness, rash, or blister formation on skin
  • Swelling, redness, and pain along a vein
  • Tremor
  • Mood changes (anxiety, depression, insomnia)
  • Fainting or loss of pain sensation
  • Sneezing/runny nose due to nasal inflammation, changes in bowel habits, or indigestion
  • Hair loss or skin discoloration
  • Urination problems (e.g., increased night urination or frequent urination)
  • Breast enlargement or discomfort in men
  • Pain or general malaise
  • Low platelet count (sometimes with bleeding or bruising under the skin) or spontaneous bleeding
  • Sugar in urine, high blood sugar, or worsening of diabetic metabolic state
  • Liver problems (jaundice, dark urine, or liver inflammation)
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sun or red patches on skin
  • Kidney problems or severely reduced urine output
  • Confusion
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Sudden wheezing, chest pain, shortness of breath, or severe breathing difficulties
  • Swelling of eyelids, face, lips, tongue, or throat causing severe breathing difficulties
  • Severe skin reactions (e.g., severe rash, hives, skin redness, itching, blisters, peeling skin, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, or other allergic reactions)
  • Heart attack
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas, which can cause severe abdominal and back pain and feeling very unwell)
  • Weakness, bruising, fever, and frequent infections
  • Stiffness
  • Low white blood cells (with fever, sore throat, frequent infections) or pale skin, fatigue, shortness of breath, dark urine (hemolytic anemia)
  • Abdominal bloating (gastritis), liver inflammation (hepatitis), or yellow skin (jaundice)
  • Increased muscle tension, blood vessel inflammation (often with rash), or sensitivity to light
  • Rigidity, tremor, and/or movement disorders
  • Facial rash, joint pain, muscle disorders, fever (lupus erythematosus)
  • Acute respiratory distress syndrome (severe shortness of breath, fever, weakness, confusion)
  • Intestinal angioedema (swelling in the intestines with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)
  • Non-melanoma skin cancer

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamides, calcium channel blockers, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver, kidney, or heart problems (e.g., very low blood pressure, severe narrowing of heart valves, heart failure after a heart attack, or inability to produce urine), gout, or diabetes with kidney problems and are taking aliskiren.
  • Do not use if your blood potassium, sodium, or calcium levels are too low or too high and are not corrected by treatment.
  • Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can unpredictably increase the effect of the medicine.

  • This medicine may cause dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, or headache. If you experience these symptoms, do not drive or use tools or machines.
  • Hydrochlorothiazide can increase the risk of certain skin cancers. Protect your skin from sun and UV light while taking this medicine.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience blurred vision or eye pain, as this could lead to permanent vision loss if untreated.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you develop severe shortness of breath or breathing difficulties after taking this medicine.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
