How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide how much medicine you need each day. For adults, it is usually 10 to 20 ml for every kg of your body weight per day. For children aged 2 to 18, the doctor will carefully set the dose based on their age, how they are growing, and their health, typically 10 to 25 ml per kg per day (up to 30 ml for children who are very sick).

Method

This medicine is given as a liquid drip directly into a vein through a small tube.

Important

The drip should not go faster than 1 ml for every kg of your body weight per hour.

  • Allergic reactions (contact your doctor right away if this happens).

  • Vomiting (being sick).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to this medicine or any of its parts.
  • Do not use if you were born with a problem handling proteins or amino acids.
  • Do not use if you have very severe, life-threatening blood circulation problems (shock).
  • Do not use if your body does not get enough oxygen.
  • Do not use if you have too much acid in your blood.

  • Do not use if you have very severe liver disease, like severe liver failure or liver disease with serious brain problems (grades 3 and 4).
  • Do not use if you have very severe kidney failure and are not getting enough treatment like dialysis.
  • Do not use if your heart failure is not well controlled and causes very weak blood flow.
  • Do not use if you have too much fluid in your lungs.
  • Do not use if your body's fluid or salt balance is off. Your doctor will fix this before you get the medicine.
  • This medicine is not for newborn babies, infants, or children under 2 years old, because its mix of ingredients is not right for their special needs.
  • If you are pregnant, might be pregnant, are breastfeeding, or plan to have a baby, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
