How to Use

Dosage

Take 1 tablet twice a day.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not break, chew, or crush them, as this can lead to too much medicine being released at once.

Your doctor will tell you the maximum daily dose you should take.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Nausea (feeling sick)
RARE
  • Allergic reactions (like sudden wheezing, difficulty breathing, swelling of eyelids, face or lips, rash, itching, especially all over the body – tell your doctor immediately)
  • Increased uric acid in your blood, which can cause joint pain and swelling
  • Feeling restless, anxious, or having trouble sleeping
  • Seizures (fits)
  • Dizziness and shaking (tremor)
  • Fast heart rate or strong, rapid heartbeats (palpitations)
  • Stomach pain or discomfort, diarrhea, stomach upset, heartburn (acid reflux), vomiting
  • Itching or skin rash
  • Increased need to urinate or difficulty emptying your bladder completely
  • Loss of appetite
  • Hives, muscle cramps, or severe muscle pain and weakness (rhabdomyolysis)
  • Behavioral or learning problems in children

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to aminophylline, theophylline, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not give this medicine to children weighing less than 22 kg (about 6 years old).
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are elderly, or have heart problems like irregular heartbeat or high blood pressure.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have thyroid problems, a stomach ulcer, or liver problems.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have seizures, prolonged high fever, difficulty urinating (if you are a man), a rare blood disorder called porphyria, severe asthma, worsening lung disease, cystic fibrosis, trouble sleeping, or are receiving electroconvulsive therapy.
