How to Use

Dosage

The highest recommended maintenance dose is 100,000 SQ-U (1 ml from bottle 4, red).

Method

This medicine is given as injections, usually under the skin of your arm. A doctor or nurse will always give you the injection.

Important

This medicine is not for daily use. The maximum single dose for the maintenance phase is 100,000 SQ-U, given every 6-8 weeks.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Tingling feeling in the skin
  • Eye inflammation or itchy eyes
  • Wheezing
  • Asthma symptoms, shortness of breath, tight feeling in lower airways, cough, or sneezing
  • Irritated feeling in the throat
  • Blocked nose
  • Heartburn
  • Red or itchy skin
  • Rash
  • Flushing
  • Back pain, joint pain, or swollen joints
  • Itching at the injection site
  • Tiredness
RARE
  • Feeling of a fast, strong, or irregular heartbeat
  • Redness at the injection site
  • Chest discomfort
  • Swollen eyelids
  • Low blood pressure
  • Paleness
  • Unpleasant feeling in the nose, or a runny nose
  • Feeling of tightness in the throat
  • Pain or difficulty swallowing
  • Feeling of a foreign object in the throat
  • Swelling, hives, discoloration, lumps, pain, hair growth, or bruising at the injection site
  • Feeling of warmth
  • Tissue swelling (usually in lower limbs)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have an immune system disease, cancer, fever, or have had allergic reactions like hay fever, asthma, or a rash in the last 3-4 days.
  • On the day of your injection, avoid heavy exercise, hot baths, sauna, and alcohol.
  • Stay at the clinic for at least 30 minutes after each injection so staff can check for any reactions.
  • Get medical help right away if you have severe allergic symptoms like hives, trouble swallowing or breathing, voice changes, or if your asthma gets much worse.
