How to Use

Dosage

One spray into each nostril.

Method

Use as a nasal spray, twice a day (morning and evening). Shake the bottle, clear your nose, tilt your head slightly forward, insert the nozzle into your nostril, press the pump, and breathe in gently. Avoid contact with eyes.

Important

Do not use more than one spray in each nostril, twice daily.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nosebleeds
  • Headache
  • A bitter taste in the mouth, especially if you tilt your head back. This usually goes away after a few minutes if you drink something.
  • Unpleasant smell
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, which can cause difficulty swallowing or breathing, and sudden skin rash. If this happens, contact a doctor immediately.
  • Mild irritation inside the nose, which can cause stinging, itching, or sneezing.
  • Dryness in the nose or throat, throat irritation, or cough.
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness or drowsiness.
  • Cataracts (clouding of the eye lens), glaucoma (high pressure in the eye), or increased eye pressure, which can cause blurred vision, red or painful eyes. These effects have been seen with long-term use of nasal sprays containing fluticasone propionate.
  • Damage to the skin or lining inside the nose.
  • Feeling unwell, tired, fatigued, or weak.
  • Rash, itching, skin redness, or itchy bumps (hives).
  • Spasm of the airways (bronchospasm), which means a tightening of the air tubes in the lungs.
  • Nasal sores.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to azelastine, fluticasone propionate, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have recently had nose surgery.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a nose infection; it might need separate treatment.
  • Tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis or any other untreated infection.
  • Tell your doctor if your eyesight changes, or if you have or have had high eye pressure, glaucoma, or cataracts. Contact a doctor immediately if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems.

  • Tell your doctor if your adrenal glands are not working well.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe liver disease, as it might increase side effects.
  • Children under 18 should only use this medicine if a doctor prescribes it.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
  • This medicine can sometimes cause tiredness or dizziness. If this happens, do not drive or use machines. Alcohol can make these effects worse.
  • This medicine contains benzalkonium chloride, which can cause irritation or swelling in the nose, especially with long-term use.
  • See a doctor if your symptoms don't get better after 14 days of regular use, or if you need to use this medicine for more than 3 months.
