Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to alfentanil, other opioid medicines, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis).
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart or circulation problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a head injury or high pressure in your brain.
  • Tell your doctor if you are on a low-sodium diet.

  • Tell your doctor if you have an unmanaged underactive thyroid.
  • Tell your doctor if you have lung disease, breathing difficulties, or other breathing problems. You may only receive this medicine if a ventilator is used to help you breathe.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have alcoholism or if you or a family member has ever misused alcohol, prescription medicines, or illegal drugs.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking or have taken MAO inhibitors (medicines for depression) in the last two weeks, as this medicine should not be given with them.
  • Tell your doctor if you smoke.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of mood disorders (like depression or anxiety) or other mental health problems.
  • This medicine is an opioid and repeated use can lead to dependence, abuse, and life-threatening overdose. Talk to your doctor if you are concerned about dependence.
  • This medicine can cause muscle stiffness, including in your chest. Your doctor will take steps to prevent this, such as giving the medicine slowly.
  • This medicine can cause breathing problems in infants and newborns. They will be closely monitored, and medication might be given to relax their muscles.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, as some can change how Alfentanil Kalceks works. Your doctor might need to adjust doses.
  • Using Alfentanil Kalceks with medicines that make you sleepy (like sedatives, sleeping pills, other strong pain medicines, or alcohol) can cause severe drowsiness, serious breathing problems, or coma, which can be life-threatening.
  • Using this medicine with certain medicines for epilepsy, nerve pain, or anxiety (like gabapentin and pregabalin) increases the risk of opioid overdose and serious breathing problems, which can be life-threatening.
  • This medicine may affect your unborn baby. Your doctor will decide if it's safe for you. It is not recommended during childbirth.
  • This medicine may affect breastfed babies. Do not breastfeed for at least 24 hours after receiving this medicine.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy or dizzy. Do not drive or operate machinery for at least 24 hours after receiving it, or until you feel normal.
