How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide how much Alburex you need based on your specific condition.

Method

This medicine is given as a drip into a vein. It should be warmed to room or body temperature before it is given.

Important

Your doctor will carefully watch you to make sure you don't get too much Alburex, as too much fluid can cause problems with your heart and blood flow.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Skin reactions such as swelling or blisters (excluding redness and itchy rash, which are rare).
  • Breathing problems, like wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, or cough.
  • Swelling of the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Cold-like symptoms, such as a stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, or red, itchy, swollen, or watery eyes.
  • Headache, stomach pain, vomiting, or diarrhea (excluding nausea, which is rare).
RARE
  • Redness on face and neck.
  • Itchy rash (hives).
  • Fever.
  • Nausea.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Alburex if you are allergic to human albumin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor or nurse if you have heart failure, high blood pressure, fluid in your lungs, problems with bleeding, severe anemia (low red blood cells), or kidney problems, as special care is needed.
  • If you get any signs of an allergic reaction during the infusion, like a rash, itching, swelling, or trouble breathing, tell your doctor or nurse right away. They will stop the infusion.
  • If you get a headache, trouble breathing, or swelling in your neck veins during the infusion, tell your doctor or nurse immediately. These could be signs of too much fluid, and they will stop the infusion.
