Albunorm is given directly into a vein as an infusion (drip).

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose. If you take too much, contact your doctor immediately.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to albumin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, high blood pressure, fluid in your lungs, bleeding disorders, severe lack of red blood cells, or if you cannot urinate. These conditions can make an increase in blood volume dangerous.
  • If you experience headache, breathing difficulties, swelling in your neck, or high blood pressure during treatment, the infusion must be stopped immediately.
  • If you have an allergic reaction, the infusion must be stopped immediately.
  • Be especially careful if you have a severe traumatic brain injury.
