The doctor determines your individual dose based on your height, weight, severity of your condition, and fluid/protein loss.

Method

Albuman 40 g/l is given as a slow infusion directly into a vein by a doctor or nurse.

The maximum daily dose is determined individually by your doctor based on your clinical condition.

  • Anaphylactic reactions (severe allergic reactions)
  • Shock

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to human albumin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Be especially careful if you have decompensated heart failure.
  • Be especially careful if you have high blood pressure.
  • Be especially careful if you have enlarged veins in the esophagus.
  • Be especially careful if you have pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs).

  • Be especially careful if you have severe anemia.
  • Be especially careful if you have anuria (very little or no urine production), e.g., due to kidney problems.
