How to Use

Dosage

The doctor will decide the right dose for you. It should not usually be more than 2 mg of the active substance per kg of your body weight per day.

Method

The doctor will inject the medicine into your vein while your leg is flat or raised 30-45 degrees. After the injection, a tight bandage or stocking will be applied, and you should walk for 30 minutes.

Important

Do not exceed 2 mg of the active substance per kg of body weight per day. For a 70 kg person, this means a maximum of 4.6 ml of Aethoxysklerol 30 mg/ml per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • New blood vessels appearing in the treated area, bruising.
  • Skin discoloration, bleeding under the skin.
  • Temporary local pain at the injection site, blood clots at the injection site.
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock) including sudden breathing difficulties, dizziness, low blood pressure, swelling of the skin (especially face, eyelids, lips, throat), hives, asthma.
  • Neurological issues: Stroke, headache, migraine, local sensory disturbances, loss of consciousness, confusion, dizziness, speech disorders, clumsiness, partial paralysis, reduced sensitivity in the mouth area, nerve damage.
  • Vision disturbances.
  • Heart problems: Cardiac arrest, palpitations, abnormal heart rate (fast or slow heart rate), 'broken heart' syndrome (stress-induced cardiomyopathy).
  • Blood vessel issues: Vein inflammation (superficial or deep), deep vein thrombosis (blood clot), pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung), heart and blood vessel problems (fainting), shock, blood vessel wall inflammation.
  • Breathing problems: Breathing difficulties (shortness of breath), feeling of pressure in the chest, cough.
  • Stomach issues: Taste disturbances, nausea, vomiting.
  • Skin reactions: Allergic skin inflammation, hives, skin reactions, redness, increased hair growth in the treated area, local tissue death, hardening, swelling.
  • Limb pain.
  • General symptoms: Fever, feeling of warmth, malaise, weakness, abnormal blood pressure.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to lauromacrogol 400 or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have a serious illness that is not being treated.
  • Do not use if you are bedridden or cannot walk.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a high risk of blood clots, for example due to hormone therapy, being overweight, smoking, or long periods of not moving.
  • This medicine should never be injected into an artery, as it can cause serious tissue damage and may lead to amputation.

  • Using this medicine on the face should be carefully considered, as it can cause permanent vision problems, including blindness.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This medicine is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless absolutely necessary. If used while breastfeeding, you should stop breastfeeding for 2-3 days.
