How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will inject 0.1-0.2 ml of Aethoxysklerol 5 mg/ml into the vein, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Method

The doctor will inject the medicine into a vein in your leg, which will be horizontal or elevated 30-45 degrees.

Important

Do not exceed 2 mg of lauromacrogol 400 per kg of body weight per day, which is up to 28 ml of Aethoxysklerol 5 mg/ml for a 70 kg person.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Blood vessels appearing in the treated area that were not visible before, bruising.
  • Skin discoloration (darkening), bleeding under the skin.
  • Temporary, local pain at the injection site, blood clots at the injection site (local clots within varicose veins).
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction (sudden breathing difficulties, dizziness, drop in blood pressure), swelling of the skin (on face, eyelids, lips, or throat), hives, asthma.
  • Stroke, headache, migraine, local sensory disturbances, unconsciousness, confusion, dizziness, speech disorders, clumsiness, partial paralysis, reduced sensitivity around the mouth.
  • Visual disturbances.
  • Cardiac arrest, palpitations, abnormal heart rate (fast or slow), 'broken heart' syndrome.
  • Superficial vein inflammation, vein inflammation, venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, heart and vascular problems (fainting), shock, inflammation of blood vessel walls.
  • Breathing difficulties (shortness of breath), chest tightness, cough.
  • Taste disturbances, nausea, vomiting.
  • Allergic skin inflammation, hives, skin reactions, redness, increased hair growth in the treated area.
  • Limb pain.
  • Local tissue death, hardening, swelling, fever, feeling of warmth, malaise, weakness.
  • Abnormal blood pressure.
  • Nerve damage.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to lauromacrogol 400 or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are bedridden or cannot walk.
  • Do not use if you have a severe arterial circulation disorder.
  • Do not use if you have a blood clot causing a blocked blood vessel.
  • Do not use if you have a high risk of blood clots, such as a hereditary tendency, hormonal contraception, obesity, smoking, or prolonged immobility.

  • Do not use if you have an acute severe illness (especially if untreated).
  • Do not use if you have a known, symptomatic patent foramen ovale (a hole in the heart wall).
  • Sclerosing agents must never be injected into an artery, as this can cause tissue death and limb amputation.
  • Use in the facial area must be carefully considered, as an injection can cause permanent visual impairment (blindness).
  • In the foot or ankle area, there is a high risk of accidental injection into an artery; use only small amounts and be extra cautious.
