How to Use

Dosage

Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area once a day.

Method

Gently rub the cream into the skin.

Important

Adults should not use Advantan for more than 12 weeks, and children for more than 4 weeks; always use it for the shortest time possible.

Possible Side Effects

  • Local skin irritation (e.g., burning sensation, itching at the application site)

  • Small blisters at the application site
  • Inflammation of hair follicles (folliculitis)

  • Numbness or tingling sensation on the skin (paresthesia)
  • Drug hypersensitivity
  • Inflammation of the tissue under the skin (cellulitis)
  • Swelling and irritation at the application site
  • Pustular skin inflammation
  • Skin wounds
  • Dilation of small blood vessels (red spots)
  • Skin thinning
  • Fungal skin infection
  • Acne
  • Rash around the mouth (perioral dermatitis)
  • Allergic contact eczema
  • Skin stretch marks
  • Skin color changes
  • Increased hair growth
  • Increased eye pressure (glaucoma)
  • Blurred vision

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to methylprednisolone aceponate or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have tuberculosis, syphilis, or viral diseases (e.g., chickenpox, shingles).
  • Do not use on inflamed skin areas with rosacea, wounds, acne, reactions from vaccinations (redness, inflammation), or rash around the mouth (perioral dermatitis).
  • Do not use for bacterial or fungal infections unless treated with specific medication at the same time.
  • Do not apply to eyes, mouth, open wounds, or mucous membranes (e.g., around the anus or genitals).

  • Do not use on large skin areas (over 40% of the body surface).
  • Do not use under airtight or waterproof materials like bandages, tight clothing, or diapers, unless your doctor tells you to.
  • Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
  • If used with latex products like condoms or diaphragms, Advantan cream might damage them and reduce their effectiveness.
  • Advantan cream is not recommended for children under 1 year of age.
