Adrenalin Aguettant is an emergency medicine used to treat sudden cardiac arrest and severe allergic reactions (anaphylactic shock) in adults.
For life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), adults receive 0.05 mg (0.5 ml) as many times as needed. For cardiac arrest, adults receive 1 mg (10 ml) into a vein or bone every 3-5 minutes until the heart works again. Children over 5 kg with cardiac arrest receive 10 micrograms/kg (0.1 ml/kg) into a vein or bone every 3-5 minutes until the heart works again.
This medicine is given by a doctor, nurse, or paramedic as an injection into a vein (intravenously) or bone (intraosseously).
The dose is repeated as many times as needed until the desired effect is achieved or the heart function returns to normal.
