How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose, usually starting with 20 mg or 30 mg per day.

Method

Take one capsule every morning, with or without food. Swallow it whole with water, or open the capsule and mix its contents with yogurt, water, or orange juice. Drink or eat it right away.

Important

Do not take more than 70 mg per day.

  • Blurred vision
  • Metallic taste or changes in taste

  • Nosebleed
  • Unusual excitement, overactivity, or feeling uninhibited (mania)
  • Allergic reaction

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Adixemin, similar medicines, or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take Adixemin if you are currently taking or have taken certain depression medicines called MAOIs in the last two weeks, as this can cause a dangerous rise in blood pressure.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had heart problems, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, high blood pressure, or a family history of heart issues, as this medicine can affect your heart.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have mental health problems like severe mood swings, anger, seeing or hearing things that aren't real (hallucinations), or feeling overly anxious or tense, as this medicine might make them worse.
  • This medicine can be misused or lead to dependence. Tell your doctor if you or anyone in your family has ever misused alcohol, prescription medicines, or illegal drugs.

  • If you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine. It is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and may affect the baby.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness, blurry vision, or trouble focusing. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these effects.
  • This medicine can cause a positive result on drug tests.
  • This medicine can cause weight loss, and children or teenagers may not grow as expected. Your doctor will monitor your weight and height.
  • Tell your doctor if you have thyroid problems, glaucoma (eye pressure), seizures, tics (uncontrolled movements or sounds), kidney problems, or have had a stroke.
