How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 20-30 mg, and your doctor may increase it if needed.

Method

Take one capsule every morning. You can swallow it whole with water, or open the capsule and mix its contents with soft food (like yogurt), water, or orange juice, then consume the mixture right away.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 70 mg.

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

  • Excessive sweating
  • Stomach pain
  • Teeth grinding (bruxism)
RARE
  • Unusual excitement, being overly active, or feeling uninhibited (mania)
  • Allergic reaction
  • Fever
  • Unusual talkativeness
  • Feeling depressed, anxious, low, or uneasy (dysphoria)
  • Unusual feeling of well-being or excitement (euphoria)
  • Compulsive skin picking
  • Uncontrolled body jerking or twitching
  • Unusual drowsiness
  • Itching, rash, or red, itchy raised rash (hives)
  • Blurred vision
  • Metallic taste or altered sense of taste
  • Fainting
  • Nosebleed

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to lisdexamfetamine, other amphetamines, or any ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are taking antidepressants called MAOIs or have taken them in the last two weeks, as it can cause a sudden increase in blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you have thyroid problems.
  • Do not use if you feel unusually excited, overactive, or uninhibited.
  • Do not use if you have or have had heart problems, such as a heart attack, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, heart failure, a heart disease, or a congenital heart defect.

  • Do not use if you have high or very high blood pressure or narrowing of blood vessels.
  • Do not use if you have increased eye pressure (glaucoma).
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience a severe allergic reaction, characterized by a sudden drop in blood pressure, difficulty breathing, and hives.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you see, hear, or feel things that are not there, or experience paranoia and delusions (psychotic episodes).
  • Seek immediate medical attention if Tourette's syndrome worsens, or you experience uncontrollable, repetitive twitching of body parts or repeating sounds and words.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience seizures.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you have an abnormal heart rhythm or a life-threatening arrhythmia.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you have allergic liver damage, which may appear as yellowing of the whites of your eyes and/or skin.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you have skin swelling (angioedema) or a severe rash with severe blisters on your skin and mucous membranes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you have shortness of breath or swollen legs, which can be signs of heart muscle disease.
