Addex-Sodium Chloride infusion concentrate contains electrolytes sodium and chloride and is used to treat sodium deficiency or increased sodium needs in adults and children as part of intravenous fluid therapy and nutrition.

How to Use

Dosage

The doctor or nurse will determine your dose individually. A common minimum daily requirement is 80 mmol of sodium.

Method

This medicine is given diluted into a vein by a doctor or nurse. It must not be given undiluted.

Important

The doctor or nurse will determine the maximum safe dose based on your individual needs. Too high or too rapid a dose can cause serious harm.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Addex-Sodium Chloride if you are allergic to sodium chloride or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor or nurse if you have kidney problems, swelling, heart failure, or high blood pressure.
  • Before starting treatment, your doctor or nurse will check that your kidneys are working well and that your body can get rid of sodium properly.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines. No interactions have been reported, but it is always good to inform your doctor.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
