Addex-Kalium replaces potassium and other electrolytes needed in fluid therapy or nutritional supplementation.
For adults, the maintenance dose and for mild to moderate deficiency is 40-80 mmol potassium per day; for severe deficiency, the dose is 120-160 mmol per day. For children, the dose is a maximum of 4 mmol potassium per kilogram of body weight per day.
A doctor or nurse will give this medicine directly into a vein (intravenously) and it must always be diluted.
For adults with severe deficiency, a maximum of 160 mmol potassium per day, and the infusion rate should not exceed 20 mmol potassium per hour.
