How to Use

Dosage

Adults typically receive 10 ml daily. For children over 15 kg, the dose is 0.1 ml per kg body weight daily. Doses may be lower if you have liver or kidney problems.

Method

Addaven is given as a drip into a vein (an infusion). It must be mixed with another solution before use. A doctor or nurse will prepare it correctly.

Important

The recommended maximum daily dose for adults is 10 ml. For children, it's 0.1 ml per kg body weight.

  • Allergic reactions caused by iron or iodine

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Addaven if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. If you get a rash or other allergic reaction like itching, swollen lips or face, or trouble breathing, tell your doctor right away.
  • Do not take Addaven if your bile flow is blocked.
  • Do not take Addaven if you have Wilson's disease (a condition where copper builds up in your body) or hemochromatosis (a condition where iron builds up in your body).
  • Addaven should not be given to children weighing less than 15 kg.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems.
