Actikerall is a skin solution containing fluorouracil and salicylic acid used to treat actinic keratosis (a pre-cancerous skin condition) in adults.

How to Use

Dosage

Apply Actikerall once a day, unless your doctor has instructed otherwise.

Method

Clean and dry the affected area. Gently peel off any film from the previous day's application. Apply a thin layer of Actikerall directly onto the skin lesion with the brush once daily, let it dry to form a film, and do not cover it with a dressing.

Important

Do not apply Actikerall to a total skin area larger than 25 cm² (5 cm x 5 cm) at one time.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Reactions at the application site, such as skin redness (erythema), inflammation, irritation (including burning sensation), pain, and itching.
  • Headache.
  • Peeling skin (exfoliation).
  • Minor bleeding, loss of the upper skin layer (erosion), and scabs at the application site.
RARE
  • Dry eyes, itchy eyes, increased tear production (lacrimation).
  • Skin inflammation (dermatitis), swelling (edema), and sores at the application site.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to fluorouracil, salicylic acid, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or think you might be pregnant.
  • Do not use if you have kidney problems.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nose, or genital mucous membranes.
  • Do not use if you have a complete deficiency of DPD enzyme (dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase), and do not exceed the recommended dose.

  • If you have reduced sensation (e.g., due to diabetes), your doctor will closely monitor the treated areas.
  • Do not use on bleeding skin lesions.
  • Protect the treated area from direct sunlight and avoid UV lamps or sunbeds.
  • Not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • Avoid getting the solution on clothes, fabrics, or acrylic surfaces, as it may cause permanent stains.
  • Highly flammable: keep away from open flames, hot surfaces, and appliances (e.g., hair dryers).
  • Use within 3 months after opening the bottle.
  • Do not use if the solution has crystals.
  • Do not use Actikerall if you have used antiviral medicines (such as brivudine, sorivudine) in the last 4 weeks, as it may increase side effects.
