- •Changes in blood cell counts
- •Mental changes (like feeling unusually excited or seeing/hearing things that aren't there)
- •Seizures or going into a coma
- •Liver problems, which might make your skin or eyes look yellow (jaundice)
- •Kidney problems, which might cause kidney pain
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to aciclovir, valaciclovir, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
- If you take high doses, make sure to drink enough fluids.
- If your immune system is very weak, long-term use might make the medicine less effective against the virus.
- If you have kidney problems or are elderly, your doctor might need to adjust your dose.
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
