Aciclovir Noridem is an antiviral medicine used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses, such as chickenpox and shingles.
Adults: 5–10 mg per kg every 8 hours. Children over 3 months: 10–20 mg per kg every 8 hours, maximum 400–800 mg per dose. Newborns: 20 mg per kg every 8 hours.
A doctor or nurse will administer this medicine to you as a slow infusion directly into a vein, taking at least one hour.
The maximum dose depends on weight and the condition being treated. For children, the maximum dose is 800 mg every 8 hours in certain cases, implying a daily maximum if given three times a day.
